1st Leg, Home to Newcastle

Departure

So we received an email on Saturday from DFDS suggesting we arrive at the ferry early because it was a “busy crossing”. With us being ferry traveling newbie’s and having a 2&3/4 hr journey ahead, we e opted to try and leave home at around 9:30. Predictably though in typical fashion we ended up leaving around an hour late. We’d plenty time though so no panicking was required. 😬😬😂

Bon voyage Newcastle here we come.

Scoobie Snack before boarding the ferry

Unsurprisingly, Eddy never ceases to amaze. Smooth 1st leg with no dramas other than an emergency toilet stop for the human element of Eddy!!!! 🙈😂

So arrival at the ferry terminal was around an hour early so the other human element of Eddy (the Co Driver) decides mmmmm, I’m peckish. So it goes without saying the beast needed fed. 😂😂😂 Having time to spare we decided to share a fish n chips from North Shields’s version of the chippy at Anstruther.

It was decent but not quite Anstruther.

Boarding the ferry.

We didn’t know what to expect as Newbie’s. I have to say though a piece of cake. After a simple check in process, no drama pretty much drove straight on.

The boat.
Eddy tucked up for the journey. ⛴️🌊
