We’re On The Road Again🎶
So, we had a good nights sleep (some better than others, Mrs I don’t snore, I have video evidence btw)!!
We got up at 7am so we could get a shift on and try and get to Strasbourg and have time to do a wee bit of necessary work. Not as long a journey today which was good, yesterday was a bit of a drag. Today was a sedate 151 miles, 2.5 hrs without factoring in a stop.
We got packed up fairly quickly had some breakfast then set off. Well hands up time, doesn’t happen often but I forgot some things. 😂😂🤷🏻♂️. I forgot how to work my mobile espresso machine and how to make a coffee in the Eddy. Factor in the 1st time use of the new milk frother and that hopefully sets the scene. I managed to spill the first espresso everywhere burning myself in the process🙈😂
The roads were not as busy today, so all good. After about an hour or so, we stopped at a service station for fuel and a wee snack (KFC today). Not bad all in all and no hangry episodes today. The challenge of the day though was to get Mrs to do some communicating with the locals. 😂 Broad Fifeshire accent is apparently like swa-heally here! 😂🤷🏼♂️
So onwards we went, smoothly as per. 😉 Another hour and a bit saw us arriving AT Camping Municipal Obernai at around 2.30pm. We quickly checked in and went to our pitch just to understand the lay of the land because we were intending to go and find supplies for evening dinner. The campsite seemed fine and all in order other than maybe someone whizzing round with a mower (the grass was long). 🤷🏼♂️
😂😂😂😂 Most of you reading this will have found the above as confusing as Mrs did when the girl in Lidl asked if we had bags and how we wanted to pay! 😂😂😂😂
Translated to English, the above is the following. We found a local Lidl near by, so were able to but some stuff for dinner.
Didn’t take too long to get back and get camp set up for the night. Before starting the prep for dinner though, we had to do the necessary work for an hour or so. 💻 No sweat though once the Wi-Fi was sorted out, they was easy enough.
Dinner was great again, I have to say the COB BBQ is one of the best things Mrs has ever bought. Spatchcock chicken and salad tonight. Very very tasty I can tell you, the seasoning of the chicken etc was superb. Mmmmm. 😋
Tomorrow’s leg is onwards to another country, Switzerland 🇨🇭. We head south again and via Colmar, Mulhouse, Basel, Bern to near as dam-it Montreux and into the Alpine country. The campsite by all accounts is beautiful and on the shores of Lake Geneva. I am fortunate to have visited that area previously on business and this is really where this trip idea came from. I really wanted to show Mrs this beautiful part of the world and in what better fashion than doing it as part of an epic Eddy road trip. 😁
Au revoir 👋👋👋 🇨🇭
