Well well, here goes. We’re just getting started with preparing Eddy for our epic trip to the Alps. We have spent a few days checking over everything after an extended road test over the winter. Eddy as been in use more or less every weekend over the winter, even during a winter camping trim over the Christmas period of 2022. 🌨
We are catching the overnight ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam, originally Hull to Rotterdam was the choice because it was significantly better priced but, we discovered Eddy wouldn’t fit on the Hull ferry because of his overall height. So taking Eddy’s height of approximately 3m inc the roof rack into consideration, we opted to switch to the Newcastle ferry. ⛴
Eight countries in 11 days starting 7th May2023 will be a bit of a whirlwind but we’re up for it.
We are not apposed to a bit of wild camping but because we haven’t traveled with Eddy in Europe before. We thought it best to pre book campsites. We will tell you more about those in future blog posts.
There has been a lot of planning and organising for this trip already, upgrading the breakdown cover and insurance etc etc. 📝 🔧
